August 2019 Wrap Up

Oh boy Chapterlings, this has been a whirlwind of storm! And by that I really mean, the end of August has been a little hectic! I’ve been pulled in so many directions, but that’s okay because I’m finally getting my August Wrap Up posted. I know, we’re already the second day in and I still don’t have everything together. However, I’m hoping in the following months (mainly for the fall season) I’ll be making it up to all of you! There’s going to be a few changes and some exciting stuff is happening on the blog. So keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned for some fun stuff! In the meantime, you’re on this post for books so let’s do a breakdown! In the month of August I read technically seven things. However, you’ll only see five in the photo, but my top secret seventh book is actually a webtoons comic. August was a relaxation kind of month so I didn’t do too much reading, but don’t worry, September I’m going to be a nonstop reading machine. I will be functioning off of coffee for the majority of that month, so be prepared! Anyway, let’s dive into all the books I read!

🌻 Save Me (The Most Beautiful Moment in Life o) by BigHit Entertainment | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Heartstopper: Volume Two (Heartstopper #2) by Alice Oseman | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 There Will Come a Darkness (Age of Darkness, #1) by Katy Rose Pool | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 No Judgments (Little Bridge Island, #1) by Meg Cabot | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Wilder Girls by Rory Power | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Stargazing by Jen Wang | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Sheets by Brenna Thummler | ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Okay Chapterlings, I think that covers each book that I read this month! I have one more review on the way that was a bit delayed, but it will be hopefully up soon! And now I have to prepare to tackle September! I hope you all enjoyed this wrap up! This was a surprising month of good reads and I couldn’t be happier with how August turned out. However, please tell me down below some of the books you read for the month of August and what some of your favorites reads for the month were! And until next time; may your TBR shelves be full, I love you! ❤️

July 2019 Wrap Up

Hello Chapterlings! I’m finally getting my July Wrap Up posted! It seems like this has taken me a lot longer than I anticipated. I’m not going to lie, when I was putting this all together, I had no idea I read as many books as I did. In fact, when The Reading Rush hit, my brain mentally dumped everything I had already read out of my brain and made space for everything I had planned for The Reading Rush. It was a whirlwind! We’re dead, but we survived! But seriously, when I realized I was lacking a lot of the books I read for the month of July. I’ve been really burned out and it’s been a wild ride, but I wanted to post it because I read a HUGE amount of books. I have never read so many books before for a month and I feel really accomplished by it. I read fifteen books for the month of July and that’s a whole new record for me! So without me gabbing any further, here are the fifteen books that I managed to read for the month of July!

Okay, friends! That was all fifteen books I managed to read! Granted, there was a good handful of comics on there. Aside from those comics, I’m super happy with how my month of July turned out. I never would have imagined me breaking my own record of books I read in a month. But let me know down below some of the books you read for the month of July or even how many books you read! Until the next time; may August be filled with five stars reads, sweet relaxation, and as always, I love you! ❤️

June 2019 Wrap Up

Salutation Chapterlings! June is finally coming to an end and with that being said, another wrap has finally come again! If you remember my May 2019 Wrap Up, it was an odd month for reading and June has been kind of crazy, busy, and a lot of reading… for graphic novels. This month has been off the charts with unpredictable things happening and with life being so problematic, a friend out visiting, and just chaos all around, reading has taken to the back burner for most of this month. I’m still catching up on reviews, hauls, unboxings, and so much more. Hopefully, July will be a lot calmer than this month has. For now, let’s dive straight into my June Wrap Up!

(And as always, you can click the links of the book if you would like to read my full length review, as well as seeing the individual trigger and content warnings .)

Before I get started, there are two comics/graphic novels that aren’t featured in the photo above. I will be listing the review for both below with my rating for that specific book. However, in case you didn’t know which ones were missing, both Fence Vol. 2 (the review for Fence Vol. 2 hasn’t posted yet) and Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator Issue #5 aren’t featured in this photo.

🌻 The Girl from the Other Side: Siuil, A Run Vol. 6 by NAGABE | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox, #1) by Julie Kagawa | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Fence Vol. 1 by C.S. Pacat & Johanna the Mad | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Dream Daddy: A Daddy Dating Simulator Issue # 5 by Josh Trujillo & D. J. Kirkland | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Fence Vol. 2 by C.S. Pacat & Johanna the Mad | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Love Monster by Rachel Bright | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Dragonhearts by Nikita Gill, Amanda Lovelace, and Trista Mateer | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Heavy Vinyl, Vol. 1: Riot on the Radio by Carly Usdin & Nina Vakueva | ⭐⭐⭐
🌻 Under the Moon: A Catwoman Tale by Lauren Myracle & Issac Goodhart | ⭐⭐⭐
🌻 I Love My Love: A Journey Toward Self by Reyna Biddy | ⭐⭐
🌻 Fierce Fairytales: Poems and Stories to Stir Your Soul by Nikita Gill | ⭐⭐

Okay, Chapterlings! That’s everything I was able to cram into the month of June! I’m hoping next month will be calmer, less stressful, and definitely filled with more reading. Hopefully this time, I won’t try biting off more than I can chew too! But I hope you all enjoyed my wrap up! And as always, I hope your TBR is full, your month filled with reading, and of courser, I love you! ❤️

May 2019 Wrap Up + A Readathon

Hello Chapterlings! Welcome back to my blog for another monthly wrap-up! I can’t believe summer is practically kicking down our doors! I feel like May has gone by so quickly without even giving us a moment to breathe. However, May has been a whirlwind for me. If you’ve been following me on Instagram then you probably know I went a little buck wild this month. Honestly, I kind of love it, but at the same time I also feel like I’m behind in updating. So this is me making up for it with a monthly wrap up and a readathon on top of it! This month I read ten books (back to my original numbers) and most of these books were for the Asian Readathon! So without further adieu, let’s get into this wrap up!

Before I get into this wrap up, I just want to say how thankful I am to have participated in the buddy read for the Dragons & Tea Book Club with Melanie and Amy. This was such a wonderful experience and I’m so thankful to be one of many who read this book for this book club during the month of May! It would mean so much if you looked at both of these ladies! They’re both sweet and really insightful readers who put out really marvelous content! ❤️

Asian Readathon

If you aren’t familiar with the Asian Readathon, this readathon was created by Cindy at readwithcindy. May is the Asian-Pacific Heritage month so there’s no better time to branch out and read some books you may not have considered reading or have thought about reading, but haven’t had the chance to read yet. Cindy was an absolute rockstar putting together this amazing readathon for all of us in the book community to come together and read more books that involve Asian-Pacific voices. Cindy brought together such an incredible group of hosts to join in on the readathon too. Not to mention, they recently had the liveshow! As for my reading, I’m not quite sure how many books I actually read that met the challenges, I wasn’t able to finish Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa before the readathon ended, and there was one book that I never got to, but overall, I think I did fairly well for my first readathon. I can’t wait for next year to come already! I’m excited and I’m ready to set new goals for myself!

Okay, Chapterlings! That was my May Wrap-Up and my Asian Readathon books! This has been quite the month and I learned so much about myself through my reading! I also hope this month has brought all of you magical reading experiences and even some moments that made you pause and say “Huh, I never knew that about me!”

April 2019 Wrap Up

Hello Chapterlings! I can’t believe April has come to an end! How did this even happen?! April has certainly been a wild ride for me though. If you follow me on social media then you probably already know the end of this month was a rough one. As my style I will never sugar coat anything from anyone who follows me, I was very blessed to have survived a really horrible car accident and then even more recent I had surgery. As for the beginning of this month, a lot more personal family stuff was happening. So I’ve been working the tightrope practicing my balancing act. To say I’m a little disappointed in my reading would be my way of trying to put this gently for myself. It was a rough month to get reading done, but I’m grateful I was able to push two books before this month was over. I promise, May will be filled with more reading on my part, more fun things happening, and probably me hooking myself up to a coffee drip to get as much accomplished as I possibly can. But as always I hope April has been kind to you, you had lots of five star reads, and I love you! ❤️

(Like always, there will links listed below where you can click to view my individual reviews that dive deep into the contents and see the individual trigger/content warnings that I found in each book)

Before I start listing the few books I was able to read this month, I want to put this little disclaimer. Yes, I did finish Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee and no, I don’t have a review typed up. I will be rereading Dragon Pearl again in May for the Dragons & Tea Book Club. So my review will be followed after rereading it for the book club hence why I don’t have any further details for the book…yet.

🌻 How to Make Friends with the Dark by Kathleen Glasgow – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

🌻 Check Please! Book 1: #Hockey by Ngozi Ukazu – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

🌻 Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

🌻 Mookstruck Vol. 1: Magic to Brew by Grace Ellis – ⭐⭐⭐

🌻 Moonstruck Vol. 2: Some Enchanted Evening by Grace Ellis – ⭐⭐

🌻 Archie: A Rock N Roll Romance by Dan Parent – ⭐⭐

Okay, everyone! That’s all she wrote…literally. I wish I had a stronger reading month, but it just wasn’t in the cards for me. But I hope your April was wonderful, full of new releases and reading adventures! I hope May treats us even better and I loo forward to seeing everyone’s wrap ups! Have a wonderful last day of April and magical first day of May! I love you! ❤️
