Top Ten Tuesday | Changes in my Reading

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018!

Salutations Cahpterlings! I know I haven’t done a Top Ten Tuesday is a while, but I’m hoping to bring it back as much as I can! As I have mentioned, this time of year is a bit of chaos and stress. From getting sick and battling to regain my voice, to planning traveling and holiday stuff, all the way to the crafting of Christmas care packages, this time of year is chaos. And that’s with working a forty hour job every week during the holiday season. I promise, I have some great stuff coming until then, try to bear with me as I try to bring some order back into all of this. Anyway, I’m back with a Top Ten Tuesday, so let’s get into my answers!

🍁 I read some sci-fi books now!

🍁 I don’t fear large or thick books anymore (although Priory of the Orange Tree is still a daunting thought of a task)

🍁 I read faster when I have music or asmr playing compared to silence.

🍁 I read a lot more contemporary and romance books now!

🍁 I take notes and annotate my books more than what I used to in past reading sessions.

🍁 I’ve become more aware of trigger and content warnings when I read fantasy or contemporary books.

🍁 I’ve become more open to reading historical fiction and historical romance (how this happened, I have no idea!)

🍁 I spend an equal amount of time reading as I do gaming compared to my reading in 2014 where I did more gaming over reading.

🍁 From 2018 to present day, I truly discovered what I really enjoy in books and what makes me interested in certain books.

🍁 I finally use book sleeves to protect my books from my danger prone self!

Okay, dearest readers! I think those are all the changes to my reading that have developed this year. I’m not even sure if some of those count, but they count to me because a lot of these are changes in my habits and they’ve molded my reading for the better of it.
