Salutations Chapterlings! I’m back with some book recommendations! I never thought I would be compiling a list together of some of my favorite books to read during the fall. I probably say this a lot, but making this list was a real challenge. There’s so many good books out there that I could recommend, but I narrowed it down to ten books, just barely! However, I hope you enjoy the books that I picked and I hope you find yourself looking into a few of these. Now onto the books!
π The Girl from the Other Side by NAGABE

I will never stop talking about this manga series! Aside from binge reading this series, I have been raving about this series for almost all of 2019 and honestly, this is probably my favorite manga of the whole year of 2019. It’s rich with character development of morally grey characters, the most unlikely pairing, a dark prophecy, a world divided between light and darkness, and slow burn story-line that will have you wanting more! If you see this at your local bookstore, pick it up! I promise you won’t regret it!
π The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury

A book that is very near and dear to my heart! One that I can’t help rereading during the fall season. This is one of my favorite books that talks about Halloween and how it’s celebrated all over the world. There’s also a strong representation of unconditional love and how far one is willing to go for those they love. It’s a wonderful book and I strongly recommend this during the spooky season!
π Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

With the fall season in the air, how could I not recommend Harry Potter! Harry Potter is a series that’s beloved by all! Fall is the perfect time of year to pick up any of the Harry Potter books and read them. You could also plan a Harry Potter buddy read to help flying through the series. No matter what you choose, Harry Potter is a great way to bring in the fall season.
π Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

One of my all time favorite series to read and recommend! Fall often brings crisp air and fall rain spells. And what is more perfect to read during a fall rainy day than a series that takes place in the eerie setting of London during the reign of Jack the Ripper?! It’s atmospheric and the perfect mood read for a rainy day! This is a quartet so if you end up liking the first one then definitely pick up the rest of the series! The come talk to me about it because I need more people to gush about this series with!
π The Always Next (Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy #1) by Nora Roberts

If you’re looking for a little romance this fall then this is the series for you! I always recommend this trilogy for anyone who is looking into reading Nora Roberts books. This is one of my favorite trilogy series she has written that follows three brother and three best friends. Each book is about one brother and one woman he’s interest in pursuing. We get two perspectives from both main characters and there’s a bit of a paranormal twist that unravels as you read this series. I loved this series and I really enjoy curling up with a blanket, a cup of tea, and rereading these books.
π The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones

This book took me by storm. This was a book I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with so much, but I did and I’m so happy that I read it during the fall. I would say this is a book you could read during October or November. October due to all the necromancy, but November due to the strong sense of family and unconditional love. Perfect for either month and it pairs perfectly with a pumpkin spice latte!
π There Will Come A Darkness by Katy Rose Pool

This is absolutely perfection to read during any season, but I feel this book fits the fall season better. Full of action, suspense, morally grey characters, and a story-line that will cause you to binge read it in one sitting. When I read the arc of this book, I didn’t want to stop reading it. If you’re in a reading slump, feeling bored on a rainy day, then this will be the book to break the cycle.
π The Ancient Magus’ Bride by Kore Yamazaki

Full of magic, adventure, and emotional moments, this is a manga series you definitely want to pick up! Just like The Girl from the Other Side, we have another unlikely pairing that come together under dark circumstances. Once they’re together, they share many adventures undoing the darkness and discovering more about each other along the way. And if you find yourself head over heels with this series like I was and still am, then you definitely have to check out the anime. The anime is almost a complete mirror to the books and gives the perfect vibes for the fall weather!
π Every Heart A Doorway (Wayward Children #1) by Seanan McGuire

I recently read this book in September and completely fell in love with it. My heart never felt so full of warmth yet eerie vibes. From the magic doors that lead to fantasy realms to the mystery happening, it was hard not to fall in love with it. Plus, there were many amazing themes in this book that will touch the soul. I’ll be honest, I got soft and sappy at times while reading this book. I’m very eager to continue the series and I can’t wait to see where the story takes us. Honestly, I think this is a great series to pick up and read this fall. Each book is short and filled with characters you’ll fall in love with!
π Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate

This is the time of year where I really get vocal about this book. I read this book back in the fall of 2018 and I read it again during the fifth round of Contemporary-A-Thon this year. This is a middle grade book that is very close and personal to my heart and soul. I get emotional every time I talk about it, every time I recommend it to someone, and every time I give a synopsis of this book. I truly and deeply believe this is a book that deserves to be talked about more and read more because it addresses some hard topics. This book also opens the floor up for so much discussion for readers, parents, and children. I love this book and out of all the times in the year, this book is best read at the start of the school year and the start of fall.

Okay chapterlings, those are all the books I have for fall reading recommendations! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did going through some of my favorite books. Believe me, picking these books weren’t easy. Please feel free to tell me some of your favorite books to read during the fall, I’m always here for a book recommendation! Until next time, I hope October has been kind and full of five star books, I love you! π§‘
